Consumer Product Safety

The Consumer Product Safety Commission ensures the safety of consumer goods offered for sale in the United States. Consumer Product Safety Commission may initiate recalls for certain products due to defective merchandise or otherwise potentially harmful to consumers.

Many products that do not fall within the jurisdiction of other federal agencies will be regulated by Consumer Product Safety. Many children’s toys, beds, flame retardant clothing, are all regulated by Consumer Product Safety. Products that do not comply with the regulations will require a recall, usually initiated by Consumer Product Safety, however always at the expense of the manufacturer or distributor. We help clients determine what the regulations entail, how and where to get products independently tested, and assist in proper operating procedures for tracing what lots get sold to which customer. All this will help prevent costly recalls events in the future.
